Entiendo la pintura y todas las artes visuales que practico, esencialmente, como una forma de hacer poes\u00eda con im\u00e1genes. Poes\u00eda expresada a trav\u00e9s de la forma, la palabra, el sonido o el movimiento. Poes\u00eda tambi\u00e9n cargada de lo sensorial; en la que seres y objetos son acariciados por la mirada, se tocan, se huelen, est\u00e1n. Hay misterio, suspenso, algo est\u00e1 ocurriendo en cada escena, porque escenas son, a veces, de un instante retenido para hacerlo eterno. No como una instant\u00e1nea fugaz de lo real sino como afirmaci\u00f3n de la duraci\u00f3n sin fin de una experiencia. La lechera de Vermeer nunca termina de vaciar su c\u00e1ntaro, mana permanentemente y en ese manar nos aguarda para que podamos entender la maravilla de manar, simplemente; ese manar que nos dice: \u201c\u00bfCrees que lo has entendidotodo? Pues no. Sigo aqu\u00ed, sigo manando y sigo fascin\u00e1ndote\u201d. Esta paradoja es la que motiva mi pintura.<\/span><\/p>\n

Como soy un pintor no formado en academia, lanzarme a la conquista del oficio me llev\u00f3 a buscarlo en los museos de medio mundo, los talleres de maestros de la pintura contempor\u00e1nea, as\u00ed como a centros de investigaci\u00f3n en nuevas tecnolog\u00edas. He seguido con inter\u00e9s la actualidad del arte contempor\u00e1neo sin por ello sentirme adscrito a ning\u00fan ismo. Creo que pintar\u00eda igual si hubiera nacido hace 400 a\u00f1os o dentro de cien. Mi aprendizaje est\u00e1 en cada obra y en la manera en que esta se descubre a s\u00ed misma. De modo que mientras en las escuelas de arte se ense\u00f1a que un paisaje debe tener un formato horizontal oun retrato uno vertical, yo, sin tomar en cuenta estos preceptos cl\u00e1sicos, me he encontrado haciendopaisajes verticales y redondos, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n realizando lo que llamo obras \u201cde formas morales\u201d,pol\u00edpticos que se recortan y reparten fragmentados en el espacio extendi\u00e9ndose como en un paneocinematogr\u00e1fico en varias direcciones, siempre en funci\u00f3n de su imprescindible necesidad de composici\u00f3n y vivencia pict\u00f3rica.<\/span><\/p>\n

Este es el camino que, desde que tengo memoria, he tomado para la realizaci\u00f3n de mi obra; sea en la pintura, la escultura o las video-instalaciones. Subyugado o maravillado siempre por la variedad de posibilidades que se abren para realizar un poema visual sin m\u00e1s recurso que la imagen; es decir, para mostrar la esencia pre-verbal de todo lo visible anterior a la palabra, a la idea o el pensamiento incluso; ese lugar que solo nos es permitido alcanzar por medio de un humilde pincel. Por todo ello es que tomo, en medio de este mundo secular y mecanizado, el bello oficio de pintar a mano y memoria, aliado con la \u201chermana torpeza\u201d que es la que nos permite reconocernos como seres humanos y no perder el anhelo.<\/span><\/p>\n

De esta precaria empresa, obstinada y amorosa, nacen como un peque\u00f1o milagro mis cuadros, mis
piedras talladas, incluso mis multidisciplinarias instalaciones. Una obra que, como lo dijo eficazmente
San Agust\u00edn: \u201cSi nadie me pregunta s\u00e9, pero si trato de explicarla no s\u00e9\u201d. Y est\u00e1 bien que sea as\u00ed, para
m\u00ed sobre todo y tambi\u00e9n para quien quiera disfrutarla.<\/span><\/p>\n

Af\u00e1n de maravilla.
Delicada sensibilidad y recreaci\u00f3n exquisita de lo sensible.
<\/span><\/em>Una manera de poes\u00eda, con formas y colores, en constante evoluci\u00f3n;
de lo complejo a lo simple. Adem\u00e1s pureza de linea que deja perplejo y encanta.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Dentro de la tradici\u00f3n occidental,
expresi\u00f3n de una sensibilidad esencialmente latinoamericana;
peruana, lime\u00f1a, con acentos n\u00f3rdicos de Europa y nostalgia del Mediterr\u00e1neo.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Ahora y siempre – entre ni\u00f1o y adolecente – asombro ante el misterio de las cosas.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Atenci\u00f3n a los detalles, recreados minuciosamente por el placer del milagro. De lo visible a lo invisible. Fascinaci\u00f3n por los encajes <\/span>y las enaguas. Exaltaci\u00f3n de la doncella, puerta a jard\u00edn de delicias iluminado.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Realista, re-crea la realidad s\u00f3lo como resuena en su conciencia \u2013 pasando, <\/span>as\u00ed, por la abstracci\u00f3n. Creaci\u00f3n fr\u00e1gil en este mundo contempor\u00e1neo, donde se evita la resonancia: \u201cque nada resuene dentro de nuestros corazones\u201d, parece ser la pedagog\u00eda pr\u00e1ctica corriente.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Pintor galante, c\u00f3mo siente las maravillas que la vida le deja ver; tan pudorosa, tan seductora…<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Utilizando pinceles y colores, generalmente al oleo, \u00e9l pinta <\/span>con amor y ritmo; en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, recurre a la sabidur\u00eda griega <\/span>en la pintura y aprende con Polignoto. Su ayuno de colores; un banquete de armon\u00eda.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

HETERODOXIA Y PERMANENCIA
\u00a0<\/h1>\n

La heterodoxia en el mundo del arte es muchas veces un camino solitario y empedrado. Pero sin esos artistas originales, empe\u00f1ados en transitarlo a su manera, esa misma Historia del Arte ser\u00eda solo una sucesi\u00f3n modulada de tendencias pasajeras. Un encefalograma normal, vivo pero sin picos o cimas. Giorgio Morandi, Balthus, Edward Hopper, Georgia O\u2019Keefe, Frida Kahlo, De Chirico, Louise Bourgeois, El Bosco, El Greco, trabajaron largo tiempo incomprendidos o minusvalorados, creando mundos propios a trav\u00e9s de su arte.
<\/span>
En esa senda lateral se puede situar la obra y la personalidad de Fernando de la Jara (Lima, 1948).
<\/span>
\u201cEn el mundo de hoy, en el que la pintura sobre soporte bidimensional es blanco de lecturas reductivas al ser puesta en relaci\u00f3n con otros medios visuales en los que las im\u00e1genes existen en movimiento, Fernando de la Jara es un caso de excepci\u00f3n entre los creadores\u201d, escribe el cr\u00edtico y curador Jorge Villacorta. \u201cDe la Jara se reconoce a s\u00ed mismo como pintor ante todo y lo es por vocaci\u00f3n y convicci\u00f3n. Para \u00e9l, sin embargo, el arte no es simplemente su subjetividad sino el mundo de la experimentaci\u00f3n y del hallazgo de coordenadas vitales. El mundo que le es propio, aquel que construye a diario al poner a prueba preconcepciones acerca del arte de la pintura, se funda en una pr\u00e1ctica \u00e9ticamente asumida que es reintroducir mediante un trabajo representacional figurativo la sorpresa de una mirada que se vuelca a recuperar y reflexionar lo real, y para ello, a resignificarlo\u201d.
<\/span>
Otro destacado intelectual y cr\u00edtico de arte, Mirko Lauer, escribe: \u201cFernando de la Jara es un artista que ha perseguido la verdad y la belleza por entre extra\u00f1os tiempos y espacios. (\u2026) Es, de entre los pintores figurativos de nuestra historia republicana, quien ha creado un mundo de representaciones m\u00e1s variado, elocuente y herm\u00e9tico. El impacto visual de su realismo est\u00e1 al servicio de historias siempre inquietantes, siempre po\u00e9ticas. Vista en conjunto la obra de De la Jara exuda unheimlichkeit, en el sentido de un extra\u00f1amiento frente al mundo nacido del asombro. Sus cuadros concitan la complicidad del espectador, pero lo hacen sin nunca revelar del todo sus secretos\u201d.
<\/span>
Los verdaderos heterodoxos no son siempre f\u00e1ciles de distinguir. Su transgresi\u00f3n y rareza surgen como vocaci\u00f3n \u00edntima, no de una estrategia calculada. Por eso es aconsejable no caer en la idea simple de considerar a este artista en el marco de los recalcitrantes nost\u00e1lgicos de una pintura realista por el hecho de serlo. Conservadores de unas esencias ya marchitas. La obra de Fernando de la Jara no se basa solo en la apariencia de la realidad sino en su sentido, en su profundidad y misterio. Por eso es inspirado, no ingenioso. Conocedor y estudioso del oficio de la pintura y, por eso mismo, alejado del virtuosismo vac\u00edo. Abierto a los recursos de lo que \u00e9l llama \u201cla hermana torpeza\u201d que asume la imperfecci\u00f3n cuando es necesario para reforzar el acierto pict\u00f3rico. Acercarse a su obra requiere una mirada lenta, una complicidad como espectador. Es pintura para mirar, para vivir con ella.
<\/span>
Tal vez haya llegado la hora de que la zona de castigo de la pintura termine, seg\u00fan Jerry Saltz, veterano \u2014y heterodoxo\u2014 cr\u00edtico de arte del New Yorker y el Village Voice. En su reciente cr\u00edtica a la Bienal del Whitney Museum de 2019, concluye: \u201cLa mayor debilidad general de esta Bienal es la pintura. (\u2026) Esta es una gran oportunidad perdida que lamentablemente descuida la extraordinaria vivacidad que ahora se vive en el medio pict\u00f3rico. \u00bfQu\u00e9 tienen los curadores en estos d\u00edas que los hace sentir tan inseguros o extra\u00f1amente reacios y desanimados ante las antiguas alquimias ps\u00edquicas basadas en la pintura? Este prejuicio acad\u00e9mico debe terminar\u201d.
<\/span>
De una forma u otra el arte consiste en el descubrimiento. Y es cada vez m\u00e1s necesario aguzar la mirada y el entendimiento para discernir lo original de lo derivativo. De la Jara es un artista que se puede descubrir y revelar una y otra vez en cada obra.<\/span><\/p>\n
