Ich verstehe die Malerei und alle visuellen K\u00fcnste, die ich aus\u00fcbe, im Wesentlichen als eine Form, Poesie mit Bildern zu schaffen. Poesie, die durch die Gestalt, das Wort, den Klang oder die Bewegung ausgedr\u00fcckt wird. Poesie, die tr\u00e4chtig ist vom Sinnlichen; wo Wesen und Gegenst\u00e4nde durch einen Blick gestreichelt werden, sich ber\u00fchren, sich schmecken, da sind. Es gibt Mysteri\u00f6ses, Spannung; irgendetwas ist im Gange in jeder Szene, weil die Szenen manchmal nur ein angehaltener Moment sind, der verewigt wird. Nicht wie eine fl\u00fcchtige Momentaufnahme der Wirklichkeit, sondern als Best\u00e4tigung der endlosen Dauer eines Erlebnisses. Das Milchm\u00e4dchen von Vermeer h\u00f6rt nie auf, ihren Krug zu leeren, er quillt st\u00e4ndig und dieses Quellen wartet auf uns, damit wir das Wunder des Quellens verstehen, nur das; dieses Quellen, das uns fragt: \u201eGlaubst du, dass du alles verstanden hast? Nein. Ich bin immer noch hier, ich sprudle weiter und fasziniere dich weiter.\u201c Dieses Paradox ist es, was meine Malerei motiviert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Als K\u00fcnstler, der keine Kunstakademie besuchte, f\u00fchrte mich die Entschlossenheit, meiner Berufung zu folgen, zu den Museen der halben Welt, zu den Ateliers der Meister der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Malerei, wie auch in den Bereich der neuen Medientechnologien. Ich habe mit gro\u00dfem Interesse die Aktualit\u00e4t der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Kunst verfolgt, ohne mich dabei einem Ismus zugeschrieben zu f\u00fchlen. Ich glaube, ich w\u00fcrde genauso malen, wenn ich vor 400 Jahren geboren worden w\u00e4re oder erst in hundert. Was ich gelernt habe, liegt in jedem Werk und in dem Ausma\u00df, wie sich das Werk selbst erkennt. Deshalb, w\u00e4hrend in den Kunstschulen gelehrt wird, dass eine Landschaft ein waagerechtes Format oder ein Portrait ein senkrechtes haben sollte, malte ich, ohne diese klassischen Gebote zu ber\u00fccksichtigen, senkrechte und runde Landschaften, sowie Werke, die ich \u201eaus moralischen Formen\u201c nenne, Polyptychen, die geschnitten und fragmentiert in den Raum verteilt werden und sich in alle Richtungen wie in einem kinematographischem Schwenk verbreiten, im Sinne ihres unentbehrlichen Bed\u00fcrfnisses nach Komposition und Bilderfahrung.<\/p>\n

Das ist der Weg, den ich, seit ich mich erinnern kann, f\u00fcr die Realisierung meines Werkes – sei es die Malerei, die Bildhauerei oder die Video-Installationen – genommen habe. \u00dcberw\u00e4ltigt und voller Bewunderung von der Vielfalt der M\u00f6glichkeiten, die sich \u00f6ffnen, um visuelle Poesie in der reinen Sprache, der Malerei zu erschaffen, Das hat eine pr\u00e4verbale Essenz, die vor dem Wort, der Idee oder sogar vor dem Gedanken sichtbar ist; jenem Ort, den wir nur durch einen bescheidenen Pinsel erreichen k\u00f6nnen. Aus all diesen Gr\u00fcnden ergreife ich inmitten dieser s\u00e4kularen und mechanisierten Welt das wundersch\u00f6ne Handwerk des Malens aus der Erinnerung, und in einer Allianz mit \u201eSchwester Ungeschicklichkeit\u201c, derjenigen, die uns erlaubt, uns als Menschen zu erkennen und niemals die Sehnsucht zu verlieren.<\/p>\n

Aus diesem prek\u00e4ren Unternehmen, starrk\u00f6pfig und liebevoll, entstehen meine Bilder, meine behauenen Steine, sogar meine multidisziplin\u00e4ren Installationen wie ein kleines Wunder. Ein Werk, wie es der Heilige Augustinus so wirkungsvoll erkl\u00e4rte: \u201eWenn mich niemand danach fragt, wei\u00df ich es; will ich es einem Fragenden erkl\u00e4ren, wei\u00df ich es nicht.\u201c Und es ist gut so, vor allem f\u00fcr mich, aber auch f\u00fcr alle, die mein Werk genie\u00dfen m\u00f6chten.<\/p>\n

Die Heterodoxie in der Welt der Kunst ist oft ein einsamer und steiniger Weg. Doch ohne diese einzigartigen K\u00fcnstler, die hartn\u00e4ckig darauf bestehen, den Weg auf ihre Art zu gehen, w\u00e4re die Geschichte der Kunst nur eine modulierte Aufeinanderfolge von vor\u00fcbergehenden Trends. Ein normales Enzephalogramm, lebendig aber ohne H\u00f6hen und Tiefen. Giorgio Morandi, Balthus, Edward Hopper, Georgia O\u2019Keefe, Frida Kahlo, De Chirico, Louise Bourgeois, Hieronymus Bosch, El Greco, arbeiteten eine lange Zeit verkannt oder untersch\u00e4tzt und dabei erschufen sie durch ihre Kunst eine eigene Welt.<\/p>\n

Auf diesem Seitenweg kann man das Werk und die Pers\u00f6nlichkeit von Fernando de la Jara (Lima, 1948) einordnen.<\/p>\n

\u201eIn der heutigen Welt, in der die Malerei auf einem zweidimensionalen Tr\u00e4ger ein Ziel f\u00fcr reduktive Auslegungen ist wenn sie in Zusammenhang mit anderen visuellen Medien gebracht wird, in denen Figuren in Bewegung vorhanden sind, ist Fernando de la Jara ein Ausnahmefall unter den Sch\u00f6pfern\u201c, schreibt der Kritiker und Kurator Jorge Villacorta. \u201eDe la Jara betrachtet sich selbst haupts\u00e4chlich als Maler, einer, der das durch Berufung und aus \u00dcberzeugung geworden ist. Trotzdem ist die Kunst f\u00fcr ihn nicht nur seine Subjektivit\u00e4t, sondern die Welt des Experimentierens und der Entdeckung vitaler Koordinaten. Die Welt, die ihm geh\u00f6rt, die er t\u00e4glich aufbaut, indem er vorgefasste Auffassungen \u00fcber die Kunst der Malerei einer Pr\u00fcfung unterzieht, beruht auf einer aus einer ethischen Haltung angenommenen Vorgehensweise, die mittels einer darstellenden figurativen Arbeit die \u00dcberraschung eines Blickes neu einf\u00fchrt, der sich bem\u00fcht, die Wirklichkeit wieder zu erlangen und zu reflektieren und daf\u00fcr eine neue Bedeutung zu finden.
Ein anderer hervorragender Intellektueller und Kunstkritiker, Mirko Lauer, schreibt: \u201eFernando de la Jara ist ein K\u00fcnstler, der die Wahrheit und die Sch\u00f6nheit durch seltsame Zeiten und R\u00e4ume verfolgt hat. (\u2026) Von allen figurativen Malern unserer republikanischen Geschichte in Peru ist er derjenige, der eine vielf\u00e4ltigere, vielsagendere und hermetischere Welt kreiert hat. Die visuelle Wirkung seines Realismus steht in den Diensten von immer beunruhigenden, immer poetischen Geschichten. In der Gesamtheit betrachtet str\u00f6mt das Werk De la Jaras Unheimlichkeit aus, im Sinne einer Befremdung der Welt gegen\u00fcber, die aus dem Staunen entstanden ist. Seine Bilder erwecken die Komplizenschaft des Betrachters, aber ohne ihre ganzen Geheimnisse offen zu legen\u201d.<\/p>\n

Die echten Heterodoxen sind nicht immer leicht zu erkennen. Ihre \u00dcberschreitung und Rarit\u00e4t entstehen wie eine intime Berufung und nicht aus einer kalkulierten Strategie. Deshalb ist es ratsam, nicht dem einfachen Gedanken zu verfallen, diesen K\u00fcnstler im Rahmen der st\u00f6rrischen Nostalgiker der realistischen Malerei zu betrachten, nur weil er tats\u00e4chlich realistisch malt. Bewahrer von bereits verbl\u00fchten Essenzen. Das Werk von Fernando de la Jara st\u00fctzt sich nicht nur auf die Erscheinungsform der Realit\u00e4t, sondern auch auf ihre Bedeutung, ihre Tiefe und ihr Geheimnis. Deshalb ist er ein K\u00fcnstler der Eingebung, nicht des Erfindens. Kenner und Gelehrter des Handwerks der Malerei ist er deshalb weit entfernt von leerer Virtuosit\u00e4t. Offen f\u00fcr die Mittel dessen, was er \u201edie Schwester Ungeschicklichkeit\u201c nennt, nimmt er die Unvollkommenheit an wenn dies notwendig ist, um den malerischen Erfolg zu st\u00e4rken. Eine Ann\u00e4herung an sein Werk erfordert einen langsamen Blick, eine Komplizenschaft als Betrachter. Es ist eine Malerei um sie anzuschauen, um mit ihr zu leben.<\/p>\n

Vielleicht ist die Stunde gekommen, die Malerei aus dem Strafraum zu holen, sagt Jerry Saltz, Veteran \u2014 und heterodoxer \u2014 Kunstkritiker des New Yorker und der Village Voice. In seiner Kritik der Whitney-Biennale 2019 zieht er folgende Schlussfolgerung: \u201eDer gr\u00f6\u00dfte Schwachpunkt dieser Biennale ist im allgemeinen die Malerei. (\u2026) Hier wurde eine gro\u00dfe Gelegenheit verpasst, wodurch die au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Lebendigkeit, die die Welt der Malerei gerade erlebt, ungl\u00fccklicherweise vernachl\u00e4ssigt wird. Was ist heutzutage los mit den Kuratoren, dass sie so unsicher, so merkw\u00fcrdig abgeneigt oder lustlos wirken gegen\u00fcber der aus der Malerei entstandenen alten psychischen Alchemie? Dieses akademische Vorurteil muss aufh\u00f6ren!\u201d
Sei es wie es sei, die Kunst beruht auf der Erkenntnis. Und es wird immer n\u00f6tiger, den Blick und den Verstand zu sch\u00e4rfen, um das Authentische von der Ableitung zu unterscheiden. De la Jara ist ein K\u00fcnstler, der immer wieder neu entdeckt werden kann. Er offenbart sich in jedem Werk.
